In Southern Burlington Council, NAACP v. Township of Mount Laurel (aka Mount Laurel I), the New Jersey Supreme Court rules that a municipality cannot ignore the housing needs of its region by using zoning laws to prevent the building of low-income housing.

 

The Long Island Board of Realtors becomes the first board to create a successful computerized MLS - a process they had first attempted in 1968.
