Yes. If you have your home For Sale By Owner and an agent offers to show the property to a ready, able and willing buyer, you can grant the agent permission to show your unlisted property by signing an agreement covering that client on a particular dates or recurring dates. Most states have a legal pre-printed real estate document covering this instance, which is referred to as Permission to Show Unlisted Property. The wording in the document is very similar to an actual listing agreement and includes a clause to cover the commission percent the seller is willing to pay the selling agent if the transaction closes. The document states the fact that the seller only grants permission to show the property under the circumstances described in the agreement but denies any further listing rights.
