How Can I Overcome My Fear of Cold Calling?

One of the areas most new agents struggle with and one of the most desirable ways to approach prospective clients is “cold calling.” The term cold calling strikes fear in the hearts of most new agents. This fear relates to the fear of rejection, which we all suffer from.

A good way to overcome your fear of cold calling is to rename the effort and think of it as “introductory calling.” If you think of your effort as an approach to introducing yourself to your area as a real estate agent, able to provide excellent services, you will remove the fear of rejection. Think of it as a service to yourself. You are training yourself to become a better agent. Place the desire for success on the back burner until you become more comfortable making cold calls.

As a new agent, you are exploring a new frontier. Expect it will take some time to get the desired results. The sooner your start overcoming your fears, the sooner you will achieve success in your new career.
