There are a variety of online school resource sites such as GreatSchools.net. This site provides school profiles for almost every public school, including information on test scores, teacher-student ratios, ethnic makeup, lists of top-rated schools, school ratings based on test scores and teacher-student data, as well as yellow flag alerts about areas of concern. You can compare schools based on these statistics, using the “Compare Schools” tool.  You can also check to see if the school has Parent Reviews posted. Parent feedback will tell you about the quality of the teachers, level of parent involvement, principal's leadership and extracurricular activities.
