Real Estate Salesperson: Applicants who are at least 18 years of age with a high school or GED diploma must successfully complete the 90 hours pre-licensing educational course to sit for the state salesperson real estate test. Idaho is a fingerprint state and requires a criminal background investigation, proof of identification and proof of legal presence in the US.
Continued education: is required during each renewal term. E&O Insurance is required.
Broker applicants: need to complete the required additional 90 hours courses and show proof of 2 years active experience during the prior 5 years.
Reciprocal license recognition & Non-residents: If you have been licensed in another state you can request a certified license history and submit it to the IREC for a waiver of the National portion of the licensing exam.IREC does have reciprocal license recognition agreements with Wyoming, Oregon and Montana, and does accept educational requirements of several other states. Licensees are not required to reside in Idaho, but must have their license with an active Idaho designated broker. |
