Is A Real Estate Commission Negotiable?
Category - Home Selling FAQ's - Agent, Offer & Commissions

Yes, real estate commissions are negotiable and many listing agreements include a statement to the effect that commission rates are negotiable and not established by law.  In addition, any attempt by a group of brokers to fix a brokerage rate would be considered in violation of antitrust laws.  Some states establish that, in order to earn a commission, a written listing or employment agreement must have been signed.
