| Mike has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. Starting in sales in Auckland in 1979, he went on to manage a 5 office operation in Christchurch. Joining Harcourts in 1985, Mike managed a company owned office in Christchurch before moving back to Auckland to manage a region for Harcourts.
Mike ultimately bought his own Harcourts real estate franchise in 1991. He is the former owner of Harcourts franchise, Mike Green Real Estate Ltd (Auckland). With nine offices and over 150 people, the operation achieved No 1 Harcourts Franchise for New Zealand for four consecutive years.
Moving to Queensland, Australia in 1997, Mike has been responsible for the establishment and growth of Harcourts' Australian arm. Harcourts now operates in every state in Australia, with over 280 offices. Harcourts has also established a financial services business and a conveyancing business throughout Australia.
Taking over as Managing Director of Harcourts International in December 1999 operating some 200 offices in NZ and Australia, Mike is now responsible for the overall operation and direction of Harcourts’ group of companies, and with Paul Wright, is one of the two owners of Harcourts International Ltd. The Group also operates financial services and insurance services companies in New Zealand.
Today Harcourts International now comprises over 600 offices and 4,500 agents and consultants in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, China, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa and Indonesia and in the last financial year completed $19.5 billion in sales. |
