| Dave and Gail Liniger founded RE/MAX in Denver, Colo., in 1973, prompted by their dissatisfaction with the way real estate business was conducted at the time.
Today RE/MAX is a network of more than 120,000 Sales Associates in more than 65 countries and over 7,000 offices.
As listing information became more ubiquitous and everyone scrambled to embrace the sharing of information RE/MAX, in a bold move, decided to add its competitors' listings to its website.Their Internet based lead generation system, LeadStreet, provides sales leads across the country with no cost to the agent - to date it has generated over 3 million leads.
In 2007 RE/MAX International move into its newly constructed 12 story, 250,000 square foot building in the Denver Tech Center. The facility boasts an extensive training center and a state-of-the-art video production facility, which is home to the RE/MAX Satellite Network (RSN). The company also launched RE/MAX University, a multi-faceted educational initiative during 2007.
The most significant growth for RE/MAX in recent years has come outside the United States, with expansion into Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Mexico, New Zealand and South America.
RE/MAX takes proven techniques and adapts them to local markets, thereby developing a series of tools that real estate professionals find invaluable.
