Morris joined Stewart Title Co. in 1973, becoming VP two years later, President of Stewart Title Co. in 1975 and Chairman of Stewart Title Guaranty Co. in 1991. He was elected to the Board of Directors of Stewart Information Services Corp. and became the President and Co-CEO in 2000. Morris often speaks at real estate conferences as well as the Jones School of Business and Rice University. He contributed a chapter, From Contract to Closing, to the book, Home Buying By the Experts, as well as a chapter, The Transaction: Is Integration Possible?, to the book Real Estate Confronts the Future. He was the recipient of the 2001 Outstanding Achievement Award from Settlement Services Today as well as named to the 2006 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders by Inman News. He served for five years on the Board of the Housing Roundtable, on the Advisory Council of Fannie Mae for the years 2000 and 2001 and today serves as a Director for RealEC and Wharton County Historical Museum. Morris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University in 1971 and received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas in 1973.
