What Does Innocent Purchaser For Value Mean?
Category - Home Buying FAQ's - Search & Offer

One who purchases real property without receiving notice, actual or constructive, of any superior rights or interests in the property, is called an innocent purchaser for value or a bona fide purchaser for value.  The state recording statues are designed to protect an innocent purchaser for value from the secret claims of a prior purchaser.
