What Happens If A Creditor Fails To Make The Til (truth In Lending Act) Disclosures?

Failure to properly disclose when credit is granted and if the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) determines an advertiser has broken the law, the FTC can order the advertiser to cease further violations and each violation can result in a severe plus court costs, attorney fees and actual damages and/or one year in prison.

 

Truth in lending regulations are very complex and only highlights are presented here.  If you engage in transactions, which require disclosure, you should seek more information from your local real estate board, lender, attorney or the FTC.
