What Is Community Property?
Category - Home Buying FAQ's - Buying Legal & Closing

Community property is defined as a system of ownership based on the theory that each spouse has equal interest in the property acquired by either spouse during their marriage.

Another type of Community Property is Community Property with Right of Survivorship. This form of holding title shares many of the characteristics of Community Property and adds the benefit of the right of survivorship similar to title held in joint tenancy.
