What is the term of a lease?
Category - Home Ownership FAQ's - Lease & Renting
The term of the lease indicates the period for which the contract will be active and includes the commencement date and ending date of the agreement. The length of the term can be monthly, bi-monthly, six months, one year or several years. The term of the lease is negotiable between the lessor and lessee, although most residential properties carry a term of at least six months.
