A property may be stigmatized if its past history makes it undesirable.  This could be due to a murder, suicide, shooting, illegal drug sales out of the home or past existence of a drug lab in the house or even if the house is thought to be “haunted”.  Few states have laws requiring the disclosure of stigmatized properties; therefore, a seller, assisted by a broker, should seek competent legal counsel when dealing with this type of property.
