Real Estate Salesperson: Must have completed at least 72 hours of approved real estate courses, successfully pass the real estate exams and need to apply for their license within one year of passing the real estate exams.
Continued education: All agents need to complete continuing education requirements.
Broker applicants: Must pass the Wisconsin salesperson’s examinations, or be licensed as a Wisconsin salesperson, need to complete 20 semester-hour credits in real estate or real estate-related law courses and need to successfully pass the Wisconsin broker’s exams.
Reciprocal license recognition & Non-residents: Wisconsin has reciprocity agreements with Illinois and Indiana. Nonresident salesperson applicants who have held an active salesperson’s license in another state within the two years preceding the Wisconsin application may take the Wisconsin Reciprocity Course through the Wisconsin Realtors Association prior to taking the real estate salesperson’s exam. Nonresident salesperson applicants need to successfully complete 13 specific hours of approved courses and successfully complete at least 10 semester-hour credits of approved courses. Nonresident broker applicants who have held an active broker’s license in another state within the two years preceding the Wisconsin application may take the Wisconsin Reciprocity Course through the Wisconsin Realtors Association prior to taking the real estate broker’s exam. |
